Agnes Schindel
1928 – 2018

It is with great sorrow that the family announce the passing of Agnes Schindel, late of Estevan at the Regina General Hospital on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at the age of 89 years.

Agnes was born in Eastend, Saskatchewan on July 18, 1928 to parents Torger and Anna Tysseland. Agnes attended Lowell School in Eastend for grades one to eight followed by grades nine to twelve by Correspondence and LCBI in Outlook. After grade 12 Agnes took nurses training and her first job was nursing in Estevan, Saskatchewan, this is where she met her husband of 67 years, Paul Schindel. Agnes was very proud to be from a large Norwegian family.

Agnes was predeceased by her parents, Torger and Anna (Lien) Tysseland; husband Paul; brothers, Norman, Oscar, Alfred and Harold; sister Esther Grant; brother-in-law Marvin Hoium; and sisters-in-law, Gladys Marie Tysseland, Marla Tysseland and Phyllis Tysseland.

Agnes will be lovingly remembered by her sons Chelsea (Hazel) and their children Gillian and Kurt (Sarah); Dave (Deana) and Lyndon. She will be missed by her brothers, Henry and David; sisters, Ruth Hoium and Gladys Ector; brothers-in-law Gene Grant and Don Ector; and sisters-in-law Ione Tysseland and Anita Tysseland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Hall Funeral Services, Estevan with Pastor Charlie Bowen officiating. A luncheon followed at the Royal Canadian Legion, Estevan following the service. Interment will take place at the Macoun Cemetery at a later date.
